For nearly 70 years, Mt. San Antonio College has established a national reputation for educational excellence and distinction. Mt. SAC is among the largest of California's 113 community colleges, serving nearly 60,000 students annually on a beautiful 420-acre campus in Walnut, California, just 25 miles east of Los Angeles. In 2017, the Accrediting Commission reaffirmed Mt. SAC's accreditation for the maximum allowable duration of seven years for Community and Junior Colleges of the Western Association of Schools and Colleges. The following year, the Western Association of Schools and Colleges reaffirmed the School of Continuing Education with the highest possible action of a six-year accreditation status for post-secondary institutions.

Essential Duties/Major Responsibilities:

1. Leads a diverse instruction team including training, coaching, supervising, and evaluating managers.
2. Provides leadership for educational master planning and institutional effectiveness.
3. Serves as the College’s Accreditation Liaison Officer to ensure ongoing and timely compliance with accreditation standards.
4. Develops and oversees the College’s enrollment management plan and assumes responsibility for managing scheduled classes to meet the College’s enrollment targets.
5. Ensures the College is compliant with all state and federal regulations on instruction, as well as College Board policies and administrative procedures.
6. Support the coordination of curriculum development, review, and revision in collaboration with the Academic Senate.
7. Provides oversight for budget development and monitoring for all academic divisions and academic support services within the Instruction Team.
8. Collaborates with Academic Senate on all academic and professional matters.
9. Provide leadership in the implementation and maintenance of outcomes assessment protocols.
10. Oversees the College’s research activities with the Office of Research and Institutional Effectiveness.
11. Oversees the School of Continuing Education including its programs and services.
12. Coordinates credit and noncredit programs with learning support services, including learning resources, learning assistance, and tutoring.
13. Oversees the development and implementation of grants with the Grants Office and other restricted-funded programs.
14. Provides leadership for and builds effective relationships with both Student and Administrative Services to strengthen and expand support programs and resources.

11. Budgets and revenue control.
12. Legal issues related to student and faculty behavior, rights, and discipline.
13. Human resources management, supervision, training, and employee development.
14. Effective leadership and strategic planning principles.

Skills and Abilities:

1. Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others, including those from a diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, ability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, faculty and staff.
2. Enhance student access to academic programs through appropriate schedule management and regular review of program effectiveness.
3. Serve as a team leader who is collaborative, student-centered, committed to offering outstanding learning-centered programs, and sensitive to the effects of all decisions on student and the campus community.
4. Coordinate planning efforts for all components of a complex and dynamic team.
5. Provide leadership in the identification and measurement of student outcomes to improve learning opportunities for students.
6. Plan and implement new academic programs and learning support services to maximize student success.
7. Advocate for shared governance and promote collegiality, staff cohesiveness, and the core values of the institution.
8. Resolve problems by collaborative use of analysis, available data, and negotiation.
9. Oversees the development of college publications such as the college catalog, class schedule, and related academic publications.

Minimum Qualifications/Education & Experience:

1. Equivalent to a Master’s degree or higher from a regionally accredited college or university with major coursework in any academic discipline.
2. Three (3) full-time equivalent years of increasingly responsible administrative experience in higher education at the dean level or higher and college-level teaching.

1. Doctorate degree from a regionally accredited college or university.
2. Five (5) full-time equivalent years of senior-level administrative experience.

License(s) & Other Requirements:
Incumbents may periodically be required to operate a vehicle that necessitates possession of a valid California driver’s license. Such employees must have the ability to secure and maintain a valid California driver’s license.

Working Environment:
Incumbents work in an office environment with moderate noise levels, controlled temperature conditions, and no direct exposure to hazardous physical substances. Incumbents may interact with upset staff, students, and/or the public in interpreting and enforcing departmental policies and procedures.

Physical Demands:
Must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and use standard office equipment, including a computer; to operate a motor vehicle and to visit various District and meeting sites; vision to read printed materials and a computer screen; and hearing and speech to communicate in person, before groups, and over the telephone. This is primarily a sedentary office classification although standing and walking between work areas may be required. Positions in this classification occasionally bend, stoop, kneel, SPECIAL, push, and pull drawers open and closed to retrieve and file information. Employees must possess the ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and objects up to 20 pounds.
