Job Description Summary

The College of Science and Humanities at Husson University invites applications for a full-time instructor of Biology to begin in fall 2019 on our Bangor campus. Teaching responsibilities include a non-majors biology course and may include other biology courses, and/or laboratory courses in General Biology, Anatomy and Physiology, and Microbiology. Specific teaching assignments are determined by the department; the teaching load is 12 credits per semester.
The College of Science and Humanities offers undergraduate degrees in Health Sciences, Biology, and Exercise Science. Science faculty also teach foundational courses for students enrolled in the pre-professional phases of the Nursing, Physical Therapy, and Pharmacy programs at the university, as well a science courses for the General Education curriculum. The successful candidate is expected to advise students enrolled in undergraduate science degree programs.

Duties and Responsibilities

Teaching responsibilities include a non-majors biology course and may include other biology courses and/or laboratory courses in General Biology, Anatomy and Physiology, and Microbiology. Specific teaching assignments are determined by the department; the teaching load is 12 credits per semester. The successful candidate is expected to advise students enrolled in undergraduate science degree programs.

Education and Experience

Requirements for the position include a minimum of M.S. in a field of biological sciences with both teaching and laboratory experience. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to effective teaching and student learning, as well as the ability to collaborate across disciplines to develop outstanding educational opportunities for students.
