The applicant will primarily teach prospective and current higher education leaders in the MSEd and/or Ed.D. programs. Applicants will also be expected to advise master’s and doctoral students; maintain an active scholarly and service agenda that supports the mission of the program; and share responsibility for program development, assessment, and administration. The position is subject to financial availability.

The School of Education is housed in two buildings and is composed of two departments: Specialized Programs in Education and Teaching, Learning and Technology. We offer degrees that lead to certification in multiple areas accredited by TEAC. We have three recognized doctoral programs that prepare practitioner-scholars to meet the needs of students and schools in a challenging educational climate. There are currently three education leadership programs: M.S. in Educational Administration & Policy Studies (including K-12 and Higher Ed strands), Certificate of Advanced Studies in Educational Leadership, and Ed.D. in Education and Policy Leadership. The Educational Leadership is accredited by TEAC (2009). The program is also a member of the University Council of Educational Administration (UCEA).

Qualifications:Whether at the graduate or doctoral levels, we encourage students to examine and address important problems of practice through field-based inquiry and action research. To support this emphasis on experiential learning and organizational development, the successful candidate will possess a doctorate and offer evidence of knowledge and expertise in higher education educational leadership, teaching, and potential for research. In particular, we are looking for candidates with a strong experiential background in higher education at the college/university level. In addition, we seek applicants with experience in the creation, implementation, and teaching of online courses. Experience and skills in quantitative research design, data analysis, and program evaluation in areas that are particularly relevant for educational leaders are desirable. In addition to the ability to work in a team, a history of involvement in and sensitivity to the needs of underserved and/or underrepresented groups in P-12 and/or higher education settings is particularly valued.

Salary: The salary and rank will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
