The Department of Architecture at the Collegeof Architecture and Planning, University of Colorado Denver, invites applicantsfor a one-year Visiting Assistant Professor position to commence August 2019.The Department seeks highly motivated candidates, with a developed pedagogy andthe ability to combine teaching with a progressive research agenda and/orcreative activity.

In addition to the ArchitectureProgram, the College of Architecture and Planning (CAP) offers a BS inArchitecture and professional Master’s degrees in Architecture, LandscapeArchitecture, Urban and Regional Planning, Historic Preservation, and a PhD inDesign and Planning. CAP also maintains several partnerships with universitiesin Asia, Europe, and the Middle East, and houses four research centers: theColorado Center for Community Development, the Center of Preservation Research,the Center for Advanced Research in Traditional Architecture, and the ColoradoCenter for Sustainable Urbanism. Job ResponsibilitiesThe Visiting Assistant Professor in the Department of Architecture is expected to teach design studios and lecture courses at the Undergraduate level. In addition to teaching, the candidate is expected to engage in research/creative work, and service. The standard academic-year teaching load is two courses per semester.

QualificationsMinimum Qualifications •Terminal degree in architecture (or international equivalent) •Evidence of ability to teach lecture courses and design studio •Demonstrated expertise and teaching in a field of study •Evidence of research and/or creative work 
Preferred Qualifications •Ph.D. in the history of architecture or an allied field
