DescriptionThe Department of Surgery, Division of Pediatric Surgery, Section of Pediatric Colorectal Surgery at the University of Colorado School of Medicine is seeking a general surgeon or pediatric surgeon with clinical interest in acquiring expertise in colorectal surgery for a Fellow/Instructor level position.  The primary clinical responsibilities will be at Children’s Hospital Colorado in the International Center for Colorectal Care The goal of this position is to enable the trainee to gain expertise in pediatric colorectal surgery, which will enhance his or her opportunity for application for a more formal general pediatric surgery fellowship in the future. For those who have completed training in pediatric general surgery, this program will enhance their expertise in colorectal surgery in anticipation of a sub-specialization in this area. Applications are accepted electronically ONLY at www.cu.edu/careers, refer to job posting 04199.

QualificationsRequired education/experience/skills (minimum qualifications): The trainee would need to have completed at least three years of residency in general surgery in the USA, and therefore would be a candidate eligible for application to a pediatric surgical training program.  Fully trained pediatric surgeons seeking specialization in colorectal are also encouraged to apply for this position.   International candidates will need approval of USMLE step 1 and step 2 (CK, CS) at the time of application, in addition to the surgical training.  Preferred QualificationsCandidate with pediatric surgery training with special interest in Colorectal Surgery.
