Job Summary


The Department of Radiology has an opening for afull-time faculty member to serve as Chief of the Section of PediatricRadiology at the University of Colorado School of Medicine and as Chief ofRadiology at Children’s Hospital Colorado (CHCO).  The Section has 23 pediatric radiologists workingthroughout the CHCO Network of Care. This network includes two freestandingChildren’s Hospitals serving a seven-state region with a third hospital openingin 2019 for a total of 580 inpatient beds. The pediatric radiology section performs 187,000 exams per year with subspecializedexpertise in MSK, cardiac, neuro, fetal and interventional radiology. An AdvancedImaging Lab supports radiology research by faculty and affiliated staff. TheCHCO Network of Care is consistently rated in the top 10 Children’s Hospitalsby U.S. News & World Report andDenver continues to be one of the best places to live in the United States.

 Duties

The successful candidate will leadour pediatric radiology practice. Responsibilities include managing the facultyand workload of the section, including hiring, supervision, mentorship and performanceevaluation. Ongoing maintenance of and future planning for imaging resources includingthe expansion of interventional radiology, growth of outpatient imaging, andincorporation of the new hospital will require successful interaction with theCHCO staff and administration. Oversight of the Advanced Imaging Lab andradiology research will require coordination with the CHCO Research Instituteand the Department of Radiology.



Qualifications

MinimumQualifications


Candidatesshould be ABR certified in diagnostic radiology with a Certificate ofAdditional Qualification in pediatric radiology.  Applicants must be eligible for academicappointment as associate or full professor at The University of Colorado Schoolof Medicine.

 

RequiredCompetencies


Candidates should have experience in supervisionand mentorship of medical faculty in an academic environment. The applicantshould have a history of working successfully in multidisciplinary teams thatinclude physicians, hospital staff and administrators. In addition, theapplicant should have experience in teaching at the graduate level and ahistory of peer reviewed publications.

 

PreferredQualifications


The ideal candidate is a full professor withextensive clinical experience, a demonstrated research focus in a subspecialtyarea of pediatric radiology, an established national reputation, and excellentleadership skills.
