The University of Colorado Denver seeks apostdoctoral fellow to work in the Department of Pathology at the AnschutzMedical Campus in Aurora.  The University of Colorado Denver iscommitted to recruiting and supporting a diverse student body, faculty andadministrative staff.  The University strives to promote a culture ofinclusiveness, respect, communication and understanding.

Postdoctoralposition in Dr. Xiao-Jing Wang’s laboratory. The lab has ongoing research inhead and neck cancer in the following areas:  cancer stem cells,immunotherapy and the microenvironment, microRNAs, and TGFβ signaling. The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, and able to workindependently.  Qualified candidatesshould have a recent Ph.D. or equivalent degree in Cancer Biology, MolecularBiology, Biochemistry or related field with a background in molecular biology,cell biology, immunology, and/or oncology. Self-motivation, commitment toscientific research, ability to learn new techniques, and excellent verbal andwritten communication skills are essential. Applicant should be proficient with computers.  Experience with cell culture, westernblotting, immunohistochemistry, PCR and animal models, including handling,colony management and genotyping strongly preferred.  Position will include conducting researchexperiments, data management, molecular biology assays, writing grants andpapers, and other duties as assigned.  



Qualifications

Required Qualifications:


Must have completedan advanced degree (PhD, MD, DVM) from an accredited institution and haveworking knowledge of basic research skills as they relate to cancer research. Applicantsmust be NRSA training grant eligible (a US citizen or permanent resident).

Preferred Qualifications:


Particularconsideration will be given to applicants with experience in signaltransduction and mouse models of cancer


Salary andBenefits:

 

Salary will be based on the NIH pay scale for postdoctoral fellows, must be a US citizen/green card holder. The University of Colorado offers afull benefits package. Information on University benefits programs, includingeligibility, is located at Employee Services.
