The Microelectronics ResearchLaboratory (MRL) of the ECE Department has a well equipped 4000 sq. ft.class-100 clean room, with device processing and characterizationfacilities. The Microwave MeasurementsLaboratory is able to test EMI from high-power circuits. The High-Capacity Battery Research Laboratoryhas facilities to test and characterize cells, modules, and battery packs forhybrid and electric vehicles. The undergraduatecommunications laboratory has recently been upgraded with new 6.5 GHz FieldFoxspectrum/network analyzers and waveform generators to augment the widebanddigital oscilloscopes.
