DescriptionThe Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering(ECE) at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS) is seekingapplications for a non-tenure track Data Analytics and Systems Engineering(DASE) instructor to begin in January 2019. The DASE instructor will teachundergraduate courses, including cross-listed courses, as assigned by theDirector of Data Analytics and Systems Engineering (DASE) program. The courseload for an instructor/senior instructor is up to 24 credit hours (8 courses of3 credit hours each) per academic year, but can be lowered if the instructorparticipates in other activities. Examples of courses to be taught are Introduction to OperationsResearch, Introduction to Systems Engineering, Design of Experiments,Non-linear Programming, Queuing, and Stochastics.  Other activities include: 1. Curriculum development including the development ofnew courses.

2. Guiding undergraduate students in independent studies3. Developing and teaching distance courses4. Advising undergraduate majors5. Participating in College and Departmental committeesand meetings

6. Other as assigned by the Director of DASE program The 9-month salary range for this position is$58,000-61,000.

The College ofEngineering and Applied Science at UCCS is nationally ranked and offers degreesat the Bachelors, Masters and Ph.D. level. The Microelectronics ResearchLaboratory (MRL) of the ECE Department has a well equipped 4000 sq. ft.class-100 clean room, with device processing and characterizationfacilities. The Microwave MeasurementsLaboratory is able to test EMI from high-power circuits. The High-Capacity Battery Research Laboratoryhas facilities to test and characterize cells, modules, and battery packs forhybrid and electric vehicles. The undergraduatecommunications laboratory has recently been upgraded with new 6.5 GHz FieldFoxspectrum/network analyzers and waveform generators to augment the widebanddigital oscilloscopes. QualificationsMinimum Qualifications:Masters degree in Systems Engineering, OperationsResearch, or closely related field.

 Desired Qualifications:An earned Ph.D. in Systems Engineering, OperationsResearch or closely related field; Teaching experience at the college level;Experience with delivery of distance courses
