OverallDescription of Responsibility or Nature of Work
This positionreports directly to the Judith Blaine, MD, PhD, in the Division of RenalDiseases and Hypertension, and is responsible for conducting experiments, dataanalysis and preparation of manuscripts, posters and talks for researchconducted in a laboratory studying podocyte cell biology and glomerular disease.
Areas of Responsibility / Scope of Research
The Blaine lab studies podocyte cellbiology, trafficking pathways and interactions between podocytes and the immunesystem. Research will be conducted in both in vitro and in vivo systems toexamine podocyte response to and trafficking of serum proteins such as albuminand IgG as well as immune complexes. The ultimate goal of this research is todefine molecular pathways involved in the podocyte response to and handling ofserum proteins and immune complexes to allow for the creation of targetedtherapies to treat immune mediated kidney diseases and prevent podocyte structuralderangements, cell death and progression of glomerular disease.

MinimumRequirements
- Graduation from an accredited college oruniversity with a PhD
Desiredor Preferred
- Proven experience and familiarity with cellculture, Western blot analysis, qPCR, flow cytometry, immunofluorescence andIHC techniques as well as working with in vivo mouse models. Additionalexperience in advanced imaging methods will be considered favorably as willexperience with RNA-seq including data analysis.
- Proven ability to work independently within aresearch lab
- Demonstrated ability/proficiency/excellence withlarge data set analysis such as experience with RNA-seq data analysis.
- Proven ability to independently designexperiments and analyze data.
