Minimum Qualifications:

Candidates and nominees should have a distinguished record in scholarly research, a history of strong extramural funding, and outstanding accomplishments in instruction and advising. The successful candidate will be expected to teach graduate-level courses, advise and mentor doctoral students in their studies and research, and pursue an active program of research in his or her specialty area. Applicants and nominees should have an earned doctorate in higher education or related field or an appropriate terminal degree, coupled with a record of significant academic accomplishments, including an established line of funded research.

Position Summary:

The Institute of Higher Education at the University of Georgia invites nominations of and applications from senior scholars to fill the Louise McBee Professorship in Higher Education. The professorship honors Dr. Louise McBee, who held leadership positions for more than 25 years at the University of Georgia before serving for over a decade as a champion for higher education in the Georgia legislature (http://ihe.uga.edu/news-and-events/louise-mcbee-lectures/bio/). Candidates and nominees should have a distinguished record in instruction, scholarly research, and extramural funding that focuses on the study of higher education. The successful candidate will be expected to teach graduate-level courses, advise and mentor doctoral students in their studies and research, and pursue an active program of research in his or her specialty area.
