Preferred QualificationsPosition Summary

The primary responsibility of the position is to assist in germplasm curation including field maintenance and harvesting. Field regenerations will be conducted in Byron and Griffin, GA. Responsibilities include care and maintenance of plants including manual weed control, irrigation, and harvesting. Ability to work outdoors under varied weather conditions is required. Maintenance of field plots will include plowing and tilling fields with tractors and mowing around and within fields with mowers and bush hogs. The position will occasionally be required to assist in the maintenance and repair of farm equipment.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies

Ability to independently operate farm machinery and equipment. Field plot maintenance experience.

Physical Demands

Work outdoors and in greenhouses during all seasons. Perform manual labor including planting, weeding, maintaining plots/plants and harvesting. Recurring walking, bending, stooping and standing for long periods and some heavy lifting.
