Minimum Qualifications:

Requires at least a baccalaureate degree in the field. Please contact your Human Resources office for an evaluation of education/experience in lieu of the required minimum qualifications.

Position Summary:

Supervise a research technician and postdocs in the performance of their respective duties. Review the work and reports generated by the technician and postdocs and make corrections and recommendations. These reports are issued to external customers of the Analytical Service lab.

Optimize some analytical protocols for the SPR instrument and developing robust methods for analysis and maintenance of SPR instrument.
Train incoming employees and graduate students from CCRC, other colleges/departments of UGA and other universities on analytical protocols, data analysis, and use of various analytical instruments.
Responsible for waste management of analytical service laboratory.
Laboratory management-making sure gases are ordered and chemicals inventory.
Perform structural characterization of carbohydrates using LCMS/MS and UPLC-MS. Maintenance of UPLC-MS. Train scientific staff on use of UPLC-MS.
Help organize the CCRC’s hands-on training on Polysaccharides and Glycosaminoglycan for scientists from different universities, research institutions, and private industries around the world.
