NC State Dining is an award-winning program committed to giving our campus community a place to relax, connect and fuel their minds and bodies for academic success.It is part of the division of Campus Enterprises. NC State Dining operates 14 dining areas, 7 convenience stores, campus concessions, a nutritional counseling service and catering department.

We are seeking individuals to Join our Pack as a Starbucks Barista at one of our 14 dining areas.

Dedicated and experienced dining professionals are available to provide on-the-job training and support to help you meet your full potential.

This temporary position is needed through the academic year, 10-11 month assignment. There will be a two week time frame in December-January with no scheduled work due semester break.

Essential Job Duties:

Prepare quality beverages, such as espresso based beverages, shakes, and smoothies, and other drinks, and food products consistently by adhering to all recipe and presentation standards while following all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines.

Operate micros system (touch screen cash register) and accurately process transactions through the POS by following University Dining cash handling procedures.

Assist with opening and closing duties of the unit as assigned by the supervisor.

Other Work/Responsibilities Minimum Experience/Education

One year coffee house experience required.

High School Diploma or equivalency; or demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work.

Departmental Required Skills

Provide exemplary customer service to every guest.

Perform necessary cleaning tasks in accordance with maintaining a Grade “A” Sanitation rating.

Assist in receiving and stocking store merchandise.

Maintain Grade A sanitation rating of 95% or better.

Ability to communicate effectively with customers, supervisors, and peers.

Efficient cash handling and ability to count back correct change to the customer.

Able to adapt to the changing customer volume level with a sense of urgency.

Ability o work well as part of a team.
