Specialists for the Project to Build Resilience and Innovation through Diverse Engagement (BRIDGE) support interaction and communication around issues of environmental justice and quality. Their mission is to design video and other environmental education projects that amplify the perspectives of social groups that experience disproportional negative impacts associated with environmental burdens in ways that encourage creative and inclusive environmental planning action.

Other Work/Responsibilities

Specialist may work between 5-30 hours per week, depending on project assignments and availability. Specialist must commit to completing a project and meeting benchmarks and goals established with supervisor and commit to a work schedule that supports the outcomes of the project. Specialist need not be located in Raleigh, but must be able to submit all hiring paperwork and attend mandatory Project BRIDGE training, which may require travel to Raleigh, NC.

Minimum Experience/Education

High school diploma and at least two years of experience with video editing, digital media, community organizing, social work, and/or environmental education.

Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education

-Four year college degree or Master’s Degree or equivalent level of specialized training through education or experience.
-Experience or education that indicates the ability to work with an ethnically diverse youth population.
-Familiarity with ideas, policies, and/or experience associated with environmental equity, participatory planning, and/or hurricane recovery.
-Previous experience developing lesson plans, online educational content, and/or a high impact social media presence.
-Event planning, programming, or marketing experience
-Skilled in coordinating activities and establishing priorities
-Ability to analyze problems and make well-reasoned, sound decisions
-Able to work within a team construct as well as autonomously and independently
-Experience making audio and video recordings
-Proficiency managing multimedia and/or qualitative data.
-Proficiency with social and educational media (Facebook, Twitter, Skype, Collaborate)
-Proficiency with video editing software (i.e. Adobe Premier) or experience that indicates you can teach yourself new software.
-Proficiency with document design software (i.e. Adobe In-Design)
-Proficiency with MS Word, MS Excel, email.

Required License or Certification

Valid U.S. Driver’s License, any state
