ASU-Beebe seeks an energetic, collaborative, student-focused professional to serve as the Academic Coordinator at its Regional (high school) Career Center located on the ASU-Searcy campus.
This is a 10-month position that reports directly to the Director of the Regional Career Center. Duties will include the following: creation and analysis of state and system reporting, advising, student conduct, scheduling, assistance in budget preparation, student tours, collaboration with high school counselors, representation at Career Fairs and Business Expos, occasional class substitution and development of retention strategies for the Regional Career Center Student.
The successful candidate must possess a bachelor’s degree with preference in education, counseling or related field. Master’s degree is preferred. Previous experience in classroom management or academic counseling and working with high school students is required.

Job duties and responsibilities:
1.Creation and analysis of state reporting as related to Regional Career Center and as required.
2.Advises 10-12 grade students from participating High Schools regarding occupation-specific technical programs offered by the Regional Career Center.
3.Coordinates and cultivates relationships with local district counselors promoting the Regional Career Center.
4.Works with Regional Career Center faculty in identifying students at-risk to ensure student success and retention.
5.Assists the Director of the Regional Career Center in budget development and management as needed.
6.Maintains student attendance, provides oversight to students arriving and departing campus to ensure safety and accountability.
7.Provides information, academic advising to Regional Career Center students and families as required.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree with preference in education, counseling or related field. Previous experience in classroom management or academic counseling and working with high school students required.

Arkansas State University-Beebe is an operationally separate, two-year institution of the Arkansas State University System.  With campuses located in Beebe, Heber Springs, Searcy, and Little Rock Air Force Base, we offer associate degrees, certificates, and non-credit training for business and industry.  The Beebe campus also collaborates with Arkansas State, a four-year university in Jonesboro, to offer baccalaureate and graduate degrees on the Beebe campus.  Courses are also offered at additional locations within our service area, and many courses are taught in locations convenient to business and industry.
