Doctorate in Agricultural Education or closely related field. Ph.D. candidates who are near completion will be considered. Applicants must have at least three (3) years teaching experience in secondary agriculture. Must have a strong commitment to undergraduate education and possess excellent communication skills; be technically current; be an enthusiastic team player who is willing to work in a multidisciplinary program; and have demonstrated skills in leadership.

PreferredPrimary Responsibilities

Candidate will be expected to oversee the undergraduate agriculture teacher preparation program. Teaching responsibilities include undergraduate courses in core Agricultural Education curriculum, as well as courses contributing to the online Master of Ag program in the department. In addition, candidates will be expected to supervise student teachers, attend college (ANRS) recruiting events, be engaged with Texas Ag Ed, oversee student organizations, and facilitate FFA events on campus. Additional responsibilities include participation in and helping conduct departmental sponsored events; participation in faculty governance and service activities at the departmental, college and university levels; and engagement in scholarly activity. Such activities are broadly defined and may include the scholarship of teaching, research, or similar activities.
Responsible for personal safety and the safety of others; must exercise due caution and practice safe work habits at all times.
