POSITION TITLE:ANALYST, DEGREE COMPLETION SPREGS-ALST01
STATUS:Part Time (Grant Funded; Carl Perkins Grant thru June 30, 2018)
DEPARTMENT:Records and Registration
DIVISION:Student Development
CLASSIFICATION:Non-exempt
UNION:Support and Technical
REPORTS TO: Registrar
PLACEMENT: Support Staff Grade 7
MINIMUM PAY RATE:$20.41 per hour

POSITION SUMMARY
This position is responsible for providing outreach to former and current students with an emphasis on CTE majors to help them obtain or apply for an educational credential (certificate or associate degree). Performs the initial review and evaluation of earned JJC credit for students. This process includes providing technical assistance and serving as a valuable resource for students, staff, and faculty in determining appropriate interpretation and application of College policies and procedures as they relate to earned JJC credit and the degree audit report. Possesses a solid understanding of the core curriculum and its effect on graduation. Effectively works in a team environment, communicates effectively and professionally with students, faculty, and staff. Collects, analyses and reports various data.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1.Evaluate credits earned toward graduation of formerly and currently enrolled students with an emphasis on CTE majors.
2.Develop initial and follow-up communication to be sent to former and current students who meet the criteria.
3.As instructed, support processing initial graduation certification for all degree and certificate programs.
4.Make referrals to student support services as needed.
5.Work collaboratively with Student Development departments including but not limited to Admissions, Communication Center, Counseling, Disability Services, Financial Aid/ Veterans, and Registration.
6.Utilize degree audit with the support of the Counseling Department and Enrollment Management.
7.Maintain strict confidentiality of student information.
8.Track student contact and credentials awarded.
9.Provide regular reports and updates on progress to the Registrar and the Dean of Enrollment Management; contribute to the annual and monthly reporting process for Perkins through submission of a written report.
10.Assist the office to complete various research tasks as assigned.
11.Participate in achieving departmental and college goals and objectives.
12.Perform other related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
1.Bachelor’s Degree.
2.Personal computer and technology skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office.
3.Ability to handle multiple tasks and responsibilities simultaneously.
4.Ability to work effectively with people, courteous, dependable, personable with good oral and written communication skills, and committed to embracing diversity.
5.Ability to handle confidential matters.
6.Understanding of educational and career planning process.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
1.Two (2) years of previous experience in academic credential evaluation.
2.Familiarity with Ellucian/Colleague system.

WORK SCHEDULE
1.Monday through Friday (closed on Fridays during summer)
2.15 to 20 hours per week ending June 30, 2018

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
1.Normal office physical demands.
2.Ability to travel between campus locations and to and from community events.

WORKING CONDITIONS
1.Duties are performed indoors in the usual academic office environment.

They also contain information about crime statistics for the three previous years for all JJC campuses, property owned and controlled by JJC District 525 and on public property immediately adjacent to JJC campuses.
