Job Description

POSITION: DIRECTOR, Project Management and Enterprise Architecture
STATUS: Full Time

POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for leading and managing one or more medium to large-scale or enterprise wide Information Technology (IT) program(s) consisting of multiple projects. Develops the project strategy, supporting business case and various enterprise wide high-level project plans. Ensures integration of projects and adjusts project scope, timing, and budgets as needed, based on the needs of the college. Communicates with IT leadership, college administrators and leaders, and external stakeholders and partners on project status. Responsible for delivering all college priority and IT projects contained in the portfolio on time, within budget and meeting the agreed upon strategic and business requirements. Responsible for tracking key project milestones and recommending schedule and resource changes to project stakeholders. Collaborates with senior leadership and administrators of the college to identify and prioritize opportunities for utilizing IT to achieve the goals of the enterprise. Leads, plans, prioritizes, budgets and develops the overall enterprise architecture strategy for the college and communicates architectural direction. Defines the enterprise architecture process and associated review and advisory processes, and leads the integration of those processes with related college and IT processes. Responsible for leading and managing project management and network infrastructure and operations staff. This position has budget responsibility that can exceed $1M annually which includes college-wide projects, technology replacement and investment, and respective staff salaries and benefits.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1.Lead the identification and implementation of project management processes, methods, tools, guidelines and standards in order to establish a framework that supports all project teams and stakeholders to improve the probability of successful project delivery
2.Facilitate the process that develops college priorities and plans by leadership, administration, and the established governance structure and associated processes
3.Define, manage and direct the needed end-to-end project management work effort, which includes leveraging best practices and techniques in identifying, quantifying and tracking the realization of expected benefits defined in business cases. Manage project scopes, budgets, and risks accordingly.
4.Regularly reviews and evaluates opportunities to improve the project management best practices in order to achieve higher maturity in the project management discipline
5.Lead the planning, development, and execution of the college’s enterprise architecture based on strategic and business requirements.
6.Lead the evolution of the enterprise architecture function with a balanced pursuit of business, information, solution, and technical architecture viewpoints
7.Collaborate with stakeholders, project teams, and staff to reconcile architecture solutions and identify and mitigate gaps and deficiencies
8.Demonstrate the business value of enterprise architecture as an enabler of the college’s strategy, and as support for technology innovation, which positively impacts the student experience and intended outcomes
9.Analyze industry, technology, and market trends to determine their potential impacts on the college’s strategy and architecture requirements
10.Collaborate and provide expertise and insight in to the college’s IT strategic plan
11.Build and maintain relationships with college leadership, administrators, and key project stakeholders, and acts as a trusted advisor
12.Responsible for planning and budgeting for the college’s enterprise architecture replacement plan and associated staff resources.
13.Administer performance appraisals and provides ongoing coaching and mentoring to project management and network infrastructure and operations staff
14.Perform other duties as assigned.

Education / Experience Requirements
1.Master’s degree in business, computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, system analysis or a related field of study, or equivalent experience
2.Seven or more years of experience in at least three disciplines, such as business, information, solution or technical architecture, project management, application development, systems integration, information analysis, database management or operations in a multitier environment
3.Strong leadership skills
4.Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain IT concepts and technologies to business leaders, and business concepts to the project management and network infrastructure and operations staff
5.Excellent planning and organizational skills
6.Excellent interpersonal skills , including teamwork, facilitation, and conflict resolution
7.Effective influencing and negotiation skills in an environment where resources may not be in direct control of this role
8.Success leading full life-cycle project management of medium to large IT projects;
9.Deep understanding of current and emerging technologies and how other enterprises are leveraging them to achieve their strategic objectives.
10.Knowledge of business ecosystems, SaaS, infrastructure as a service (IaaS), platform as a service (PaaS), SOA, APIs, open data, micro services, event-driven IT and predictive analytics
