The University of West Georgia (UWG) is a NCAA DII athletic program in the Gulf South Conference. This position reports to the Athletic Director and works with the Football Head Coach. Liaison between other areas of the athletic department and university on behalf of the Football Head Coach. This position coordinates home game operations, equipment purchases, recruiting, budgeting, travel, camps, player housing and admissions. The candidate is required to represent UWG in a professional manner that aligns with the strategy and culture of the University.
This position is responsible for ensuring the daily fiscal functions of the football department. Responsible for recording and managing orders for supplies and equipment. Responsible for ensuring that expenses do not exceed budgeted amounts and the enforcement of fiscal policies and procedures.
The position will have on-field coaching duties assigned by the Football Head Coach.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required from a four-year college or university with a minimum of two years related experience. Candidate must demonstrate strong organizational and communication skills; must have the ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize; must be able to work with people of diverse backgrounds; must have good computer skills; must be able to work independently and as part of a team; valid driver’s license required.
Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply principles, policies and procedures including recommendation of policy and procedure improvements. Ability to work independently. Strong problem solving skills. Advanced application of computer spreadsheet, word processing and database software. Strong organizational skills, high attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines. Excellent analytical, oral and written communication skills and time management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree in a related field or Bachelor’s degree in Business or Accounting; prefer at least four years of related accounting experience; knowledge of football operations including travel logistics; experience working in a football office or athletic administration.

Salary $45,540.00/yrly Minimum - $58,632/yrly Midpoint Physical Requirements/Working Conditions

Candidates must be physically able to perform physical duties in both hot and cold temperatures. The position requires working early mornings, nights and weekends. Must be able to travel for off-campus games, including out of state. Frequent travel in the fall. The position requires frequent sitting and standing at times.
