The University of Connecticut is seeking an enthusiastic individual to fill a full-time position as a PeopleSoft/Oracle Developer in the Information Technology Services division as a Computer Programmer/Analyst 1, 2 or Senior Computer Programmer/Analyst level. The individual will provide support for the PeopleSoft, CS 9.0 applications. You will be joining a team of experienced IT professionals managing multiple PeopleSoft/Oracle applications and providing technical services to the University community, with the ability for advancement within the division.
The successful candidate will provide analysis, design, development, and production services for the delivered PeopleSoft application as well as supporting customizations and extensions previously applied to the PeopleSoft application; have a programming background, be willing to train in PeopleSoft Technology.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES
- Provide analysis, design, development, and production services for the delivered PeopleSoft application
- Develop and support customizations and extensions using PeopleSoft PeopleTools
- Documentation and communications
- Work in conjunction with supervisor to gather business requirements
- Performs related duties as required.
Additional Duties as a Computer Programmer/Analyst 2, UCP 8 Level
- Independent analysis and requirements gathering
- Develop technical documentation
- Provide training and instruction for user requirements
- Revise programs for new requirements and adapt to new technology
- Provide analysis and planning working with colleagues across Information Technology Areas
- Assist with development of standards and procedure to minimize risk to services and systems
Additional Duties as a Senior Computer Programmer/Analyst, UCP 9 Level
- High degree of expertise and advanced knowledge of computer programming technology
- Works independently and keeps manager informed
- Creates and maintains project plans and schedules
- May serve as technical project lead and supervise other programmers on project
- Recommend program standards for new technology
- Research and implement new functionality and technology
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technologies or related field and one year programming experience, or an equivalent combination of experience, education, and training
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem solving skills
- Ability to organize and prioritize workloads
- Excellent written skills
Additional Qualifications for Computer Programmer/Analyst 2, UCP 8 Level
- Minimum three years programming experience or equivalent combination of experience, education and training
- Job History indicating growth and development in field
Additional Qualifications for Senior Computer Programmer/Analyst, UCP 9 Level
- Minimum five years programming experience or equivalent combination of experience, education and training
- Job History indicating growth and development in field
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
For All Levels
- Experience writing and executing SQL statements
- Experience in PeopleSoft or other ERP systems implementation
- Experience SQR programming or similar programming language
- Experience using PeopleSoft Peoplecode
- Experience using the PeopleSoft Application Engine
- Experience using the PeopleSoft Application Packages
- Experience using the PeopleSoft Integration Broker tools
- Experience using the PeopleSoft Component Interface
- Experience using Web Services
- Experience training and mentoring others
- Experience managing projects
- Experience supervising others on a project team
- Understanding of the software development lifecycle
- Hands on experience in object oriented programming
- Ability to work under pressure
- Excellent oral communication skills
- Ability to work well within a team
- Experience working in Higher Education
