The incumbent will facilitate classroom training, safety meetings, prepare and present progress reports as required. Required Knowledge of principles of occupational safety and health gained from a college level educational background or equivalent work experience. Required Skill in working independently and following through on assignments. Required Working knowledge of federal, state, and local health and safety codes to access, and provide accurate information to the campus community. Required Ability to make oral group presentations to persuade others to accept a specific action or opinion and to provide information to explain procedures, polices, etc. Required Skill in writing concise, logical, grammatically correct analytical reports. Required Ability to use a personal computer and related business software such as Excel, PowerPoint, Access, etc. Required Ability to analyze complex technical data and make recommendations based on the data. Required Detailed knowledge of Cal/OSHA, EPA, AQMD and other applicable state and federal codes and ability to interpret the meaning to the campus community. Required Master's degree in related field or combination of education and work experience. Preferred Ability to provide safety programs to employees working day, evening, swing or night shifts. Required Ability to serve as a member university task forces and committees as assigned.
