Hiring Unit: PEDIATRICS
Position Description: CRITICAL CARE PHYSICIAN

The University of Chicago's Department of Pediatrics, Section of Critical Care, is searching for a full-time faculty member at any rank. The successful applicant will be a full-time clinical faculty member who will provide coverage for the Comer Children's Hospital PICU, Sedation Services and Palliative Care services, teach medical students, residents and fellows, and do scholarly activity. The Section also runs the Pediatric Sedation Service with ~1500 patients per year including both inpatient and ambulatory procedures. Palliative Care Service is a developing service line that is growing rapidly and will benefit from an established palliative care clinician. Faculty members are actively involved in research and scholarship across a wide range of clinical research, quality improvement, medical education and translational projects.

Prior to the start of employment, qualified applicants must: 1) have a medical doctorate or equivalent, 2) hold or be eligible for medical licensure in the State of Illinois, 3) be BC/BE in Pediatric Critical Care Medicine, and 4) have cared for complex and critically ill infants, children and adolescents during the past five years.
