The Department of Public Health offers a Masters of Public Health (MPH) degree program accredited by the Council on Education for Public Health (CEPH) with over 100 enrolled students. The Department is part of a strategic plan at ECU to establish a School of Public Health. In spring 2018, we began offering a Doctor of Public Health (DrPH) degree program with two concentrations: 1) Health Policy, Administration, and Leadership and 2) Environmental and Occupational Health. ECU, located in Greenville, NC, is classified as Doctoral/Research-Intensive University and is the third largest constituent university of the 17-campus University of North Carolina System.

Job Duties

Duties: The successful candidate will teach healthcare finance or related areas in both the MPH & DrPH programs, mentor students, conduct investigator-initiated research, and provide university, professional, and community service, consistent with tenure track faculty members at ECU.
Academic rank and salary are commensurate with academic credentials and qualifications.

Minimum Education/Experience

1) A doctorate in finance or a related discipline from an accredited academic institution; 2) A record of research productivity, including work with interdisciplinary teams; 3) Communication skills necessary for effective teaching and service.

License or Certification Required by Statute or Regulation

Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education

Teaching experience in graduate courses in a health administration curriculum with a strong emphasis in finance, health economics, or operations management. Prior experience working in healthcare is preferred.
