The Department of Modern Languages & Literatures at William & Mary invites applications for a one-year, non-tenure-track Visiting Assistant Professor position that will begin August 10, 2019. We seek an individual with ample experience teaching Spanish language classes at the university level, as well as expertise teaching upper-intermediate courses in Hispanic literary & cultural studies and/or Advanced Grammar & Composition. The successful candidate will be expected to be an effective teacher and will have a 3-3 teaching load.
Required QualificationsA Master’s degree; native or near-native fluency in Spanish.
Preferred QualificationsPh.D. or ABD is preferred at the time of appointment (August 10, 2019), with a specialization in any field of Hispanic cultural studies. Preference given to candidates whose research includes a focus on issues of gender, ethnicity, and/or diversity.
