Description

The Department of Medicine Statistics Core (DOMStat) at UCLA invites applications for a faculty position at the Adjunct Assistant or Associate Professor level. DOMStat consists of twelve faculty and staff biostatisticians. The primary responsibility will be to provide biostatistical collaboration to faculty in the Department of Medicine. Duties include working closely with biomedical collaborators in designing studies, assisting in grant writing, using state-of-the-art statistical techniques, teaching biostatistics to medical fellows and junior faculty and presenting study results in manuscripts. Effective collaboration with medical researchers is of major importance. Emphasis will be placed on applicants with a track record of collaboration. Candidate will be expected to teach one course per year.

Requirements: must have Ph.D. in statistics, biostatistics, or other relevant discipline; at least one year of post-graduate experience in providing statistical consultation for medical research; experience in assisting with grant preparation; experience with collaboration on data analysis and publication of medical research articles.
