Position Summary:

In pursuit of this commitment, Arkansas State University - Jonesboro is currently accepting applications for the position of Assistant Professor of Physical Therapy in the College of Nursing and Health Professions.

The position is Full-Time (9 month) tenure-eligible in the graduate level physical therapy program.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Maintain active research and scholarly agenda to meet qualifications for tenure and promotion.
  • Active participant in course and program assessment.
  • Participate in service activities at the university and affiliated organizations.
  • Facilitates a work environment that encourages knowledge of, respect for, and development of skills to engage with those of other cultures or backgrounds.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Candidates with experience in either teaching advanced orthopedic, or neuromuscular physical therapy experience will be considered for this position and are encouraged to apply.

General Days/Hours:

Monday - Friday
8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Additional hours as requested and/or needed
Some Saturdays for student recruiting & retention, and for graduations

Other:

Participate in inter-professional education opportunities within the College of Nursing and Health Professions.

Minimum Qualifications:

Candidates must be doctorally trained (DPT, PhD, EdD, ScD).

Applicants with recognized specialty certification(s) in orthopedics or neuromuscular physical therapy are desired.

Must be eligible for physical therapy licensure in the state of Arkansas

Preferred candidates will have teaching experience, a well-defined general practice background, interest in a specified research area, demonstrate scholarly pursuits of that interest, and demonstrate sensitivity to diversity.
