Job Description:

Adjunct instructors are needed to teach courses within the Early Childhood Education Department. Expertise required in working with children from birth to 6 years old in public or private Early Childhood Centers and schools.

ECE-211 Young Children with Special Needs (Thursdays 1:00-3:45 PM, Charlestown Campus)
This course covers the study of children with physical, social, emotional and/or cognitive disabilities with emphasis on techniques for mainstreaming and inclusion of these children into existing early childhood programs.

ECE-202 Issues in Early Childhood Development (Thursdays 10:00 AM-12:45 PM, Charlestown Campus)
This course is a study of early childhood education programs. The course includes the history of childcare, regulation, types of programs, and current trends and issues in early care and education. The needs of children and families and components of quality programs with emphasis on social, political, and economic influences on professional issues and career opportunities in the field are covered.

Requirements:

• At least five years of experience in care and educational settings with children 0-6 years of age required.
• Understanding of developmentally practice, Anti-Bias Education, and Emergent Curriculum.
• Master's degree (M.A., M.S., M.Ed. or MAT in Education, Early Childhood, Psychology, or related field required.
• Knowledge of the field of Education and/or Early Childhood Development for broad based teaching responsibilities and assignments across disciplines, as needed.
• College-level teaching experience preferred; community college teaching experience preferred
• Proven ability to work with a diverse faculty, staff and student population

QUALIFIED CANDIDATES WILL BE INVITED TO ATTEND THE ADJUNCT ACADEMY PRIOR TO BEING ASSIGNED COURSES.

Additional Information:

Salary: $1,066.00 Per Credit Hour
