Position Summary

National Louis University is actively seeking adjunct instructors for Computer Science and Information Systems courses at our Undergraduate College.
WHO WE ARE –
We are a team of dedicated educators who have been working together to build a new Undergraduate College (UGC) at National Louis University (NLU) focused on building academic pathways and providing holistic student support to ensure students are career ready. Our undergraduate computer science and information systems (CSIS) majors serve first time freshmen as well as adult transfer students in blended format – on and off campus. Next year, we expect approximately 600 new Freshmen. Join us as we are grow!

Candidates should have experience in teaching Computer Science or Information Systems courses. This is a part-time adjunct position that requires instructors to collaborate on a regular basis with the support team that surrounds each student.

Qualifications

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
•Collaborate to develop an effective student experience for students.
•Facilitate courses assigned by delivering instruction in blended and online environments.
•Maintain current and active knowledge in the expertise area that is reflected in instruction.
•Communicate professionally, relate well, and share a passion for college success for diverse learners.
•Participate in weekly meetings with coaches and assessors to report student progress and obstacles (SSC).
•Empower students to develop competency by sharing a passion for the subject and the skills.
•Promote student success by showing flexibility in delivery and work schedule to provide student support, as well as, exhibit a passion for teaching and engaging students in the learning process.
•Utilize technology-based teaching platforms, including an adaptive engine to aid students in the development of competencies.
REQUIRED SKILLS
·Technology proficient.

·Ability to work with a highly diverse faculty and student body.
·Willingness/ability to use data to inform instruction.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND/OR EDUCATION
•Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Applied Technology, Business Information Technology, or comparable degree; and 2 years of professional experience directly related to the teaching assignment. PhD credentials preferred.
•Experience with digital tools for teaching, teaching in either online or blended/hybrid formats is required.
•Teaching to students of diverse backgrounds and abilities strongly preferred.
Courses to be filled may include:
•Introduction to Information Systems (Wheeling Campus)
•Applied Object-Oriented Programming
•Developing and Managing Databases
