Responsibilities include conducting and publishing academic research in high quality journals, generating external research funding, teaching courses in the undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral programs and engaging in service at a level commensurate with the level of faculty appointment.

The Culverhouse College of Business at The University of Alabama invites applications for two tenure track or tenured Applied Statistics faculty positions at the assistant/associate professor level with an expected start date of August 16, 2019.

Candidates must hold a Doctorate in Statistics or a closely related field. Successful candidates are expected to conduct and lead independent research in statistics. Candidates with research interests in network analysis, machine learning, statistical learning, or computational and Bayesian methods are especially encouraged to apply. Applicants for the Associate Professor position should have an established record of publication in leading journals and a successful record of obtaining extramural funding. Rank will be commensurate with experience and achievements. Applicants for the Assistant Professor position should have at least three years of experience at the proposed start date of August 16, 2019. The applied statistics group, within the Department of Information Systems, Statistics, and Management Science, currently has 8 faculty members and offers M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Applied Statistics.
