The Langdale College of Business Administration seeks qualified applicants for Assistant Professor of Finance (FinTech and Corporate Finance). The position is a tenure earning faculty position.

Responsibilities include teaching at the undergraduate and graduate level, engaging in scholarly activity, and providing service to the College, University, profession, and regional business community. Both undergraduate and graduate primary teaching areas are FinTech, international finance, and corporate finance. Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to excellence in teaching and learning, scholarship, diversity and inclusion, student retention, and student success.

Required Qualifications

Ph.D. or Doctorate in Finance from an AACSB-accredited institution of higher education or member institution or other internationally accredited institution, qualifying the candidate as a Scholarly Academic by AACSB standards by time of appointment. ABDs considered only if doctoral degree will be in hand prior to appointment date.

A record of or potential for scholarly activity and a record of effective teaching using a variety of delivery methods.

Teaching experience in the field of finance or other finance related fields.

Demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching and learning, as well as scholarship.

Commitment to diversity and inclusion, student retention, and student success.

Preferred Qualifications

Demonstrated classroom experience, ability to interact successfully with the larger business community in the area, and potential for providing leadership in program development.

Physical Requirements

Position Full-Time/Part-Time Full-Time, fully benefited (30+ hours) Standard Hours 40 Compliance Requirements

Position Requires completion of VSU’s Annual Compliance Training course (such as State Business Transactions, Drug Free Workplace, Anti-Harassment Policy, Introduction to Information Security, Workers Compensation, Motor Vehicle Policy, USG Ethics Policy, Conflict of Interest/ Outside Activities Policy, Leave Procedures for Faculty and Staff, Georgia Open Records Act, Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), and Contracts 101. Supervisory positions require training in FMLA and Worker’s Compensation.

Position Requires a Criminal Background Check.

Position May Require Credit Check (if using P-Card, working with Cash, etc.).
