Emory University's Institute for the Liberal Arts (ILA) invites applications for a Postdoctoral Fellowship in Interdisciplinary Teaching. The ILA is home to two growing undergraduate majors, American Studies and Interdisciplinary Studies, and has been ranked as the best integrative program in the nation by BestColleges.com. The successful candidate will join a vibrant faculty who emphasize interdisciplinary pedagogical collaboration and innovation. We seek candidates with a demonstrated ability and/or interest in interdisciplinary courses, with particular focus on Introduction to American Studies, and the ability to help interdisciplinary students learn to analyze media and other forms of visual culture. The Postdoctoral Fellowship will involve teaching five courses per year and advising undergraduate students working on individualized interdisciplinary projects. The appointment will be for one year, with the presumption of a one-year renewal. Candidates from any discipline in the humanities and social sciences are invited to apply; PhD required.
