Associate Director of Strategic Technology

The Associate Director of Strategic Technology is responsible for the strategic planning and execution of IT within the office of Digital and Continuing Education in Academic Affairs at LSU. This position, reporting to the Director of Business Office and Operations, manages the team that runs a full suite of technology tools, from desktop support through web development and Salesforce. This position will be instrumental in growing the IT capabilities of the department and supporting increased automation, improved reporting, and the creation of a resilient architecture and set of systems to support enrollment growth for our online and continuing education programs.

Job Responsibilities

Support current IT infrastructure, including CRM (Salesforce), active directory, LMS (Moodie) and registration (Jenzebar), while configuring and implementing a streamlined, cloud-based future state. Manage the technology life cycle of new products, features, or enhancements from conceptualization, requirements gathering, product specification, implementation review and release. Manages the product development process by translating user testing and feedback into feature/function requirements. Responsible for product delivery schedules and tasks related to all aspects of product development to successfully release new products on time and within budget. Support the vetting and implementation of new tools as needed, both for core infrastructure needs, and for learning and teaching. (35%)

Design and run reports for business needs; serve as critical consultant within Digital and Continuing Education in order to advise on infrastructure needs. Lead transformation into data-based decision making. Create road maps that support goals and business strategy, direct

research/design/development activities for the new technologies, and establish/direct the strategic long-term goals, policies, and procedures for the organization's online content. (20%)

Manage IT staff including infrastructure, the web development team, and Salesforce administrators/developers. Advise other sister universities on the use of tools as needed. Lead the configuration of Salesforce with Salesforce administrators/developers in order to meet the needs of marketing to, recruiting, and retaining students. Interacts with customers to understand their needs and to promote new products. (25%)

Support the continued transition of the website through leading the Web Development team, focused on creating a contemporary and compelling web presence for LSU Online and Digital and Continuing Education. Other duties as assigned. (20%)

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and five years of experience. Demonstrated experience leading

Preferred Qualifications

Seven or more years of experience

Special Qualifications

Evening and weekend hours sometimes required.
