Associate Director, Housing and Residence Life

Description:
The Associate Director of Residence Life is responsible for assisting in the administration, supervision and coordination of the Residence Life program. The Associate Director oversees all aspects of the community and individual development that occur in the Residence Halls including RA training, RA programming, and Learning Communities. The Associate Director supervises the Residence Director staff (6). This position will assist the Assistant Dean for Campus Life in forecasting and evaluating staffing for potential department reorganization of responsibilities.

Campus Location: Boston Campus

Required Knowledge:
Masters degree in Student Personnel or Higher Education Administration; excellent interpersonal and writing skills; ability to effectively work with students from a broad range of backgrounds and life experiences; strong organizational skills; comprehensive knowledge of student development theory; knowledgeable about legal issues relative to student affairs, housing operations, and residential life; and a commitment to diversity and team building.

Preferred/Desirable Knowledge:
Competency with basic computer software programs.

Required Prior Work Experience:
5-7 year of experience working with people from diverse cultures or which 4 years of time had experience in a college or university Housing and Residence Life environment with progressively significant time spent on staff supervision, housing operations, student programming, student conduct, and administrative duties.
