DEAN OF HEALTH SCIENCES SEARCH

St. Catherine University (St. Kate’s), a Catholic institution founded by the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet, seeks a dynamic and committed leader to serve as the Dean of Health Sciences for the Henrietta Schmoll School of Health (HSSH). The successful candidate will serve as the leader of an outstanding faculty that is deeply committed to teaching, scholarship, and service. The Dean has the primary responsibility for enhancing program quality, ensuring strong management and oversight of existing academic programs and building new ones.

It is anticipated the Dean will begin duties summer 2019.

The Dean, who reports to the Provost, serves on the Deans’ Council and works closely with other academic deans towards consistent university-wide policies and enhanced collaboration among schools and colleges. Within the School of Health, the Dean of Health Sciences works collaboratively with the Dean of Nursing to ensure success of all functions in the health science departments.

St. Kate’s, a dynamic university with one of the largest private, Catholic women’s colleges in the country, is home to nearly 5,000 students in associate, bachelor’s, master’s, doctorate, and certificate programs. The University is positioned for continued growth and furthering its outstanding reputation. The University has approximately 317 faculty and 408 staff.

The School of Health, founded in 2008, provides a cohesive home for the University’s healthcare programs, extending their scope and depth. HSSH currently serves 2,800 students in 32 healthcare programs with close to 9,000 clinical and fieldwork placements annually and offers graduate, undergraduate, and certificate programs. The total number of full-time HSSH faculty is 159. The operating budget for HSSH is $19 million.
