Description:

The Director of Contract Administration reports to the Assistant Vice President for Financial Affairs and works closely with all divisions of Financial Affairs and the Office of Legal Affairs. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: coordination and review of all University contracts for standard requirements and terms, work with departments to ensure adherence to University requirements, highlighting issues for Financial Affairs and General Counsel; coordination of legal requirements for standard provisions; review of contracts for adequate insurance coverage and obtain/provide certificates of insurance; coordination of insurance reviews with University insurance broker; and review of all contracts to ensure compliance with University policies. Work with University departments, guiding them through the contract review process, coordinating legal review with Office of General Counsel; coordinate with Office of Procurement Services regarding the issuance of purchase orders; coordinate review of agreements for tax implications; and coordinate budget review for all financial terms. Follow up and resolve any issues identified in the contract review process; prepare contract packet for final authorization and signature; follow up to ensure fully executed agreements are received and distributed to appropriate departments and vendors; and maintain contract inventory and files, including scanning of contract agreements. Incumbent will also have supervisory responsibility for Contracts Administration staff.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree required. Legal education/experience strongly preferred. Candidates should have a minimum of five to seven years of prior experience with contract administration. Previous experience in higher education is strongly preferred. Ability to work well with various departments in a high-volume operation is essential. Experience with critical thinking and analysis required.
