Vice President for Marketing and University Communication
Coastal Carolina University is accepting applications for the Vice President for Marketing and University Communication (Administrator) for the division of Marketing and University Communication.
Reporting to the President, this position serves as division leader for Marketing and University Communication to provide strategic leadership for marketing and communication institution-wide objectives. In this capacity, the Vice President also represents the University at a variety of community meetings and assists the President in managing University sponsorships. The Vice President is charged to develop a broad knowledge and thorough understanding of the higher education market trends and external forces shaping the University brand to ensure enhancement on a local, regional and national level. This position supervises and assesses the areas of university communication (public/media relations, video production services) and marketing/licensing (creative services, web content services, print services).
Qualifications: Master’s degree with commensurate progressive experience in marketing and/or communications. The University is seeking an innovative strategic marketing professional with a skillset to lead a marketing team in developing integrated marketing plans and programs for complex organizations. A successful candidate should demonstrate knowledge of the institution’s mission, strategic plan, programs and objectives. Must be particularly astute at navigating an institution’s political landscape and willing to challenge accepted approaches or to propose new ones. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively in speech and in writing. Must be self-motivated and have the ability of performing assignments with a minimum of direct supervision. Ability to clearly articulate marketing strategies to non-subject matter experts. Consults with senior leadership, University Counsel, directors, deans and department heads on matters, as appropriate. May be required to travel overnight and/or out of state. The incumbent must have the skills and abilities needed to gather data, compile information and prepare reports and proposals. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
