Job Description The University of Missouri-Columbia invites nominations and applications for the position of Instructor in the Division of Animal Sciences, an academic unit of the College of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources. The position is a full time 9 month non-regular (professional track) appointment with 100% teaching responsibilities, plus half time appoint with responsibilities during the summer. The selected candidate will teach beginning and advanced live animal evaluation courses. This person will coach the junior and senior livestock judging teams and coordinate departmental youth activities that involve live animal evaluation including state 4-H and FFA livestock judging contests and an annual livestock judging and grading clinic. Other responsibilities will include coordinating the division’s swine practicum program, coordinating summer livestock judging camp, and recruiting and representing the division with the public. This person will also serve as the supervisor of the Trowbridge Livestock Center and Swine Teaching facility.
- M.S. in Animal Science or closely related field
- Participated in an intercollegiate livestock judging team
- Teaching experience is preferred
- Expertise in food animal handling and production
