This position functions as Emergency Room Case Manager for the Case Management Department under the direction of the Director of Case Management.  ED Case Manager will incorporate the fundamental principles of utilization management, triage level or care and monitor resource consumption. To perform the coordination and general administration of the pre-admission review and the admission review utilizing InterQual® criteria. Screen all admissions to assure compliance with appropriate level of care based on patient’s documented medical necessity and treatment plan.  Monitors all patients in the Emergency Room Department, including assuring the transfer of a patient to another level of care to include hospital to hospital transfer based on the patient’s assessed needs and the organizations capabilities to meet these needs.  On-Call after hours Care Coordination coverage.

A BSN graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a valid State of Florida RN license. A minimum of one year in Hospital Case Management/nursing; a good working knowledge of patient assessment, medical terminology. Must have current BLS certification. Must be able to work a flexible schedule. Any combination of relevant education, work experience, and / or certifications will be considered.
