Program in Public Health - Postdoctoral Scholar in Molecular Population Genetics and Genomics Recruitment Period Open September 17th, 2018 through Sunday, Jun 30, 2019 at 11:59pm (Pacific Time) Description

The Department of Population Health & Disease Prevention, Program in Public Health at the University of California-Irvine seeks a Postdoctoral Scholar to study malaria population genetics and genomics.

Areas of particular interests are bioinformatics, population genomics and genetics of malaria parasites or mosquitoes. The position will involve considerable field work in Kenya and Ethiopia.

The candidates must hold a Ph.D. and possess an outstanding publication record. Candidates should have a strong background in one of the following areas: Population Genetics, Genomics, and Molecular Evolution. Prior research experience on mosquitoes or malaria parasites is not required. Must possess strong communication skills, excellent organizational skills and proficient working knowledge of bioinformatics, microbiology and population genetics.
