Summary

A full time post-doctoral fellow will provide early childhood mental health consultation services to children under the age of 6 years enrolled in early learning centers in Southern Louisiana and their childcare caregivers and families. Fellows should be able to clinically conceptualize a wide variety of cases involving young children and their caregivers with challenging behaviors, attachment and/or relationship problems, developmental delays, and/or other mental health issues and make appropriate referrals. Fellows will also provide consultation and training to multidisciplinary professionals.

Training and supervision will be provided throughout the year. Opportunities for providing reflective supervision, teaching, and training may be available.

Required Qualifications

• Successful completion of an APA-accredited internship by the start of the fellowship
• PhD or PsyD in Clinical or Counseling Psychology from an APA-accredited program

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience participating as a member of an interdisciplinary team
• Working knowledge of child development and developmentally appropriate practices in child care
• Experience in supervision and teaching
• Experience with consultation to parents, educators, and child welfare staff
