General Summary
Teach ESL courses as assigned by the ESL Director.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Teaching may include a number of particular obligations which employees are expected to fulfill, including but not limited to: meeting with students during and outside of assigned classes, assessing student work and performance, preparing syllabi and course materials, providing copies of syllabi and course materials to their supervisor on request, and assigning and submitting grades in accordance with established Eastern Michigan University schedules.
Perform related departmental duties as required.
Qualifications
Completion of a Master's degree in TESOL or a closely related field is required.
One year IEP and / or EAP ESL teaching experience is preferred.
Evidence of professional development activity is preferred.
Cross-cultural communication skills and ability to communicate using modified English are necessary.
Overseas teaching experience is desirable.
Experience learning another world language is desirable.
Additional qualifications specific to area of assignment may be desirable.
