Posting Information: The School of Accounting, Finance, Information Systems and Business Law (AFIB) invites applications for a 9 month fixed term position in Business Law at the level of Assistant Professor beginning Fall semester 2019. The successful candidate will bring areas of teaching and research that complement and integrate with those of existing faculty. The successful candidate will be expected to advise students, be involved in appropriate student organizations as well as fulfill normal institutional service obligations. Ability to maintain AACSB Scholarly Academic status is required. Candidates should have a strong record or show strong promise to contribute to the intellectual and practical lives of students and other stakeholders of the School, College, University, and the business community. Teaching responsibilities include four courses (face-to-face or online format) per semester at the undergraduate or graduate level. The successful candidate will possess the ability to teach diverse legal topics and their business applications. Intellectual contributions are expected in one or more of the following areas: technology, international law, business associations, contracts, environmental law, employment law, ethics, marketing and ADR. Teaching experience and research record should be commensurate with the rank sought. Moreover, teaching and service duties may require a 5-day per week presence on campus. The successful candidate must meet the AACSB accreditation requirements regarding academic qualification of college of business faculty. The AACSB requirements for academic qualification mandate a minimum level of relevant research and publication. Minimum Training & Experience Requirements: The minimum of a JD degree from an ABA accredited law school is required. Meet the AACSB accreditation requirements regarding academic qualification of college of business faculty.
Preferred Qualifications: Undergraduate or graduate teaching experience, both face-to-face and online. Established record of intellectual contributions.
