Job Details

The Testing Proctor is required to use active proctoring strategies. The Testing Proctor must ensure assessment security and troubleshoot technology errors. Additionally, the Testing Proctor will communicate with the Testing Administrator, provide basic clerical support, attend meetings, and participate in professional development.
Examples of Duties:
  1. Provides high quality customer service, reception, and accurate intake verifying proper identification to validate test-takers' identity.
  2. Utilizes professional proctoring procedures to support a secure and a quiet testing environment. Follows outlined procedures that include close proctoring of test-takers using physical observation during assessments and viewing recordings of electronic video monitoring software.
  3. Documents events of cheating or other irregularities during tests.
  4. Assists test-takers with use of computer equipment and computer functions while administering computer-based testing and course exams required to obtain an industry recognized credential or high school equivalency diploma.
  5. Troubleshoots basic technology problems affecting test administration personally or enlists help for RCGC technical support and/or vendor technical support.
  6. Attends training and completes qualification exams and certifications to maintain credentials necessary to administer assessments.
  7. Provides basic clerical support and data entry as needed, and does other support projects as directed.
  8. Ensures that necessary laboratory supplies are available and that equipment functions properly.
  9. Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Available to work flexible evening, morning, and periodic Saturday hours. Daytime availability strongly preferred.

  • Workplace conditions of the position:
    • The worker is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions. May be required to work in narrow aisles or passageways.
