Job Announcement – Non-Tenure-Track Lecturer Position in Music

The Department of the Arts in the School of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute invites applicants for a full-time lecturer position in Music and Interdisciplinary Humanities for an appointment beginning August 16, 2019.

We seek a creative musician and energetic teacher to contribute to the development of a new undergraduate major in music, and an expansive interdisciplinary program for undergraduate students. In addition to traditional classes in musicianship, aural skills, music theory, improvisation, song-writing and performance, teaching responsibilities may include the development of interdisciplinary courses in world, popular, vernacular and experimental music cultures, and emerging interdisciplinary fields such as sound art, environmental music, and art-science hybrids.

The ideal candidate will hold a terminal degree or foreign degree equivalent.
