POSITION: PER DIEM
LOCATION: A HARRY MOORE SCHOOL
JOB SUMMARY: New Jersey City University invites applications for the position of Per Diem Employee in the following positions Certified Behaviorist, Long Term Replacement Teacher, Substitute Teacher, Substitute Teacher Assistant, Certified School Therapist PT/OT/ST, Certified Behavorist.
LONG TERM REPLACEMENT TEACHER: Teach in a program that emphasizes functional and vocational skill development with students with multiple disabilities: Evaluation of developmental and functional abilities. Implementation of instruction designed to enhance educational performance and to facilitate independence. Participation on a trans-disciplinary team to plan and implement Individual Educational Programs. Serve as a resource to other professionals and parents. Prepare students for statewide exams or develop appropriate proficiency assessments (APA/DLM) for students. Utilize teacher assistants to assist in the achievement and implementation of IEP. Utilization of technology to achieve IEP goals. May include meeting the ADL needs of the severely disabled students.
REQUIREMENTS: NJ Teacher of Students with Disabilities or NJ Teacher of the Handicapped certification and at least one of the following certifications Elementary Education K-5, Elementary Education K-8, or content certification in Lang Arts, Math, Science.
SUBSTITUTE TEACHER: Implementation of instructional 1essons designed to enhance educational performance and to facilitate independence. Follow lessons left by classroom teacher. Insure Safety and well-being of students. Utilize teacher assistants as needed. Insure students are present and on time for therapy sessions. Follow through on therapeutic activities. Serve as a resource during emergencies. May include meeting the ADL needs of the severely disabled students.
REQUIREMENTS: Current NJ Substitute Teacher certificate
SUBSTITUTE TEACHER ASSISTANT: Assist with general classroom routine as directed by assigned teacher. Provide assistance and instruction to student. Assist student with field trips and special events. Assist or provide transport for student. Assist student to arrive on-time and safely to all therapies, programs, lunch and dismissal. Supervise student during arrival and dismissal. Work cooperatively with interdisciplinary team of professionals. Follow up with all therapy directives. Utilize specialized therapy equipment as directed. Follow medical directives regarding personal care. Assure student’s physical well-being as needed. Assist/teach student with toileting and hygiene. Assist/teach student with feeding. Observe general health of student and inform teacher/nurse of all medical concerns. Provide hands-on assistance that may include: wheeling, lifting, carrying and transferring. Promote a nurturing and supportive environment for ALL students. Assure that classroom/school is a hazard free environment. Inform teacher/administrator of any potentially dangerous situation. Work cooperatively with all faculty and staff. Perform other duties as assigned by classroom teacher or administrators.
CERTIFIED SCHOOL THERAPIST PT/OT/ST: Provide therapy in licensed discipline, develop and Implement IEPs, particpation on a trans-disciplinary team, serve as a resource and consultant to teachers and therapists, write appropriate progress reports/SEMIs.
REQUIREMENTS: Certified BCBA.
CERTIFIED BEHAVORIST: Evaluation of problematic behavior in students, develop and implement behavior plans, participation on a trans-disciplinary team, serve as a resource and consultant to teachers and therapist, write appropriate behavior plans and assessments.
REQUIREMENTS: Certified BCBA.
Registered Nurse: Provide medical treatment as needed, implement IEPs, serve as a resource and consultant to teachers and therapists, respond to medical emergencies.
Requirements: RN. School Nurse Certification (preferred)
