Job Details
Duties: The Gorman Cardiovascular Research Lab is seeking a Project Manager to lead the implementation and oversight of complex research in the area of cardiovascular disease using porcine and ovine models as well as clinical trials in patients within the University of Pennsylvania Health System (UPHS) and the Department of Surgery. The Project Manager is responsible for operationalizing study protocols, procedures, managing and conducting recruitment, screening, enrollment, and follow up for study subjects. Responsible for providing training and supervision to research coordinators and research assistants. The Project Manager A is responsible to ensure staff compliance and cooperation with applicable institutional offices across the University of Pennsylvania. The Project Manager will manage study reports and findings on a regular basis. Works closely with multiple PIs and other study leadership to plan and implement study procedures, collect and monitor data and report study progress internally. perform and/or supervise a wide range of activities in both research animals and patients enrolled in clinical research studies.
Project Manager A will also perform and/or supervise anesthesia services for research animals. This involves using various complex procedures as needed or instructed per projects directed by principle investigator(s). The project manager A will provide 'On Call' service during, evenings, weekends and holidays, 365 days/year, as needed. They will also function as AO (anesthesia overseer), train associated researchers in the training of designated tasks as needed. It is the employee's responsibility to continually self-educate by reading textbooks and journals, attending rounds, lectures and new publishing's. This position also involves overseeing record keeping, computer data entry, equipment maintenance and stocking of work area.
Position is contingent on continued funding.
Qualifications: A Bachelor's Degree and 3 years to 5 years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience required.
