Job Details
Duties: Reporting directly to the Director, Financial Management and Service Centers, the Service Center Coordinator will provide financial support and customer services to all service centers and core operations residing within GTP, currently Penn Vector Core, Immunology Core, Cell Morphology, and Animal Models Core (NHP and Small Rodent). Responsibilities include, but are not limited to monthly financial reporting, analysis and reconciliation, booking journal entries, processing daily deposits, processing purchase orders, managing accounts receivable, etc. The Service Center Coordinator will provide extensive customer service support to both internal and external customers. Working with the Associate Director and service center leaders, this position will be charged with participating in the design and monitoring of standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure efficient, timely, and accurate reporting, billing, purchasing, rate development, etc. Will participate in the completion of annual budgets and regular forecasting of financial results.
This position will be cross trained in several areas and will provide backup support to others within the GTP Finance Group.
GTP is a dynamic, fast-paced, ever-changing work environment. Selected candidate must be able to prioritize work assignments as needed. Responsibilities are not limited only to those listed in this job description.
Qualifications: The minimum of an Associate's degree and 3-5 years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience required. Previous experience in academic setting preferred. Knowledge of basic accounting practices, financial reporting, and variance analysis required. Individual must be detail oriented and organized. Strong proficiency in Excel and the entire Microsoft Office Suite preferred. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter and quick learner, a strong team player able to work in a dynamic environment. Experience with university financial systems preferred. Knowledge of Business Objects and BEN Financials a plus. Must be able to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
