Posting Information: The Department of Biology at Western Carolina University invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in Invertebrate Zoology at the Assistant Professor level, to start August 2019. Candidates addressing questions in the broad areas of evolutionary and organismal biology, especially in non-model organisms, are encouraged to apply. The successful candidate will be expected to teach undergraduate and graduate level courses, develop an active research program involving undergraduate and Master's students, be actively involved in academic activities in the department and the university, and be willing to embrace the university's commitment to equity, diversity and inclusivity. Applicants should have a Ph.D. in an appropriate field, postdoctoral experience or its equivalent, teaching experience at the undergraduate level, and a record of scholarly productivity with the expectation of continued scholarship at a primarily undergraduate university. Preference will be given to applicants with the ability to teach courses in invertebrate zoology, biology of arthropods, evolutionary biology, and introductory organismal biology. ABD considered.

Minimum Training & Experience Requirements: Applicants should have a Ph.D. in an appropriate field, postdoctoral experience or its equivalent, teaching experience at the undergraduate level, and a record of scholarly productivity with the expectation of continued scholarship at a primarily undergraduate university.

Preferred Qualifications: Preference will be given to applicants with the ability to teach courses in invertebrate zoology, biology of arthropods, evolutionary biology, and introductory organismal biology.
