Job description

Posting Information: The associate dean of the Graduate School is a member of the Graduate School leadership team and oversees the daily operations of the Graduate School including hiring and supervision of Graduate Student personnel. This position reports directly to the dean. Areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to, supervision of Graduate School staff, interaction with program directors throughout the university, curriculum review, enrollment services, student services including Graduate Student Association, and primary campus committee liaison. The Graduate School associate dean will work closely with the dean in conducting Graduate Council business. The associate dean will be expected to analyze, evaluate, and help enforce policies/procedures to maintain and improve management functions as well as student events managed by the Graduate School. The individual must be comfortable working independently in a decision-making environment based upon data and policy, including being a part of an integrated team with staff and colleagues. The associate dean also serves as an advocate for graduate students, graduate program directors, department heads, faculty, and staff. The associate dean will work closely with other associate deans in addressing graduate education issues and business. Review of candidates will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled.

Minimum Training & Experience Requirements: Doctorate Degree

Preferred Qualifications: Record of involvement in and commitment to graduate education. Experience in leadership position in academic college. Eligible to be considered for a tenured/tenure track faculty position.
