Position Summary: Governors State Universitya€™s College of Arts and Sciences seeks to create an available pool of local (Chicagoland area) Adjunct Faculty candidates to teach anthropology courses in the Anthropology and Sociology Bachelora€™s Degree Program (ANSO). Adjunct faculty will be expected to teach face-to-face courses offered on the Governors State University campus in University Park, Illinois in one or more of the following areas: introduction to cultural anthropology, introduction to archaeology, visual anthropology, urban anthropology, or other courses within our curriculum as required. At Governors State University, Adjunct Faculty are hired as temporary faculty with teaching responsibilities for a specific course in a semester or summer session. Adjuncts are not a part of the faculty bargaining unit and are not included in membership of the Faculty Senate.

Minimum Qualifications: At minimum, an MA in Anthropology or a closely related field is required.

Preferred Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have (1) teaching experience in anthropology at the undergraduate level; (2) positive teaching evaluations that also reflect enthusiastic and innovative instruction; and (3) availability to teach daytime, online, and/or evening courses at the University Park, Illinois campus.
